Farzaneh Mohammadi Parsa remains in detention without formal charges more than 90 days after her arrest, according to human rights monitors.

Mohammadi Parsa is currently being held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison after spending over 40 days in Ward 209, a Ministry of Intelligence detention facility, the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported on Wednesday.

Authorities have denied her release on bail, and no formal charges have been announced against her since her arrest on December 25, 2024.

A source close to the family said her arrest was connected to her protest against compulsory hijab laws in Tehran.

The source added that security forces physically assaulted her during the arrest at her home in Tehran.
